There is no other city on earth that provides the maximum amount of twinkle at night that Vancouver does. Glass walled condos, the tower of Harbor Centre, and the inlet light up with a blaze of sparkly lights that are breathtaking for those lucky enough to be treated to the view.   Beyond the city lay 3 ski hills that provide a distant glitter at night and a ton of fun during the day. If you are new to the city, or new to skiing, a trip up to the three local ski hills is definitely in order.

Mount Seymour is well known as the main ski hill where locals take their first tracks. A season pass to Mount Seymour will give you unlimited access to all runs, free tobogganing, and snowshoe access.  Even a beginner can benefit from having a ski pass at Mount Seymour. Sign your entire family up for ski school and learn from instructors that will teach you to ski the right way.  You can’t beat the proximity to the city, and the snow is among the freshest of the local hills.

People may come to Grouse Mountain to take the Gondola and see the city, but they stay for the amazing snow and skiing.  Grouse has the distinction of being the only mountain with a multimillion-dollar snow making system, ensuring that a lack of snow will never hamper your skiing experience. If you are an experienced snow boarder, try out the terrain park for extra thrills and chills.

If you want a big mountain experience, Cypress is the place to be.  The motto at Cypress is “Go Big or Go Home” and with so many runs to choose from, you can spend the whole day there and never do the same run twice. Because Cypress was home to Olympics of 2010, you have the ability to ski the same terrain where Gold medalist Maelle Ricker won the distinction of first place. You will find yourself returning to Cypress again and again, not only for the epic powder but for the proximity as well.

With such impressive ski hills so close to home; you’ll never need to leave the lower mainland this winter.
